Canvas Calendar
For this project, we were tasked with redesigning the calendar portion of Canvas. There were a couple of things with both devices versions that felt needed to be changed.
Some of those changes were I wanted to make each class a drop-down allowing students to see one class at a time. Next, I wanted to separate the days and week more so that a student could clearly see each and every day.
There was a lot to work on with my ideas when I got done with my grey comps. The individual boxes just didn't work and needed some refinement.
For the desktop version, like I said I felt that the days and weeks needed to be more apparent of which one is which. I found it hard with the current design to separate days and weeks because the lines separating them were very light. So I added week rectangles and gave them borders that made the days stick out.
As for the mobile version, I felt that multiple dots underneath the days showing multiple assignments was not needed. Simplifying this and add checkboxes to completed assignments made the calendar on mobile cleaner and more user friendly.
